Humble Beginnings
In 2007, Mike and Gretchen Gouloff saw the dire need to feed children in their community. They began this program with one school, feeding 300
students every weekend.
Since then, we have grown to seven schools in Fort Wayne Community, feeding 3000 students every weekend during the school year, with an additional 5,400 children fed throughout the summer months.
With over 119,000 bags distributed every school year, our goal is to expand to EVERY school in our district and beyond.
Triple Impact Program
We are beginning the transition to purchase our food locally, beginning with three pilot schools, to ensure that the funds are creating the greatest impact.
Impact 1: FEEDING
Feeding children at a lower cost, with more fresh fruit and produce items. Opening up the potential for accepting donations to increase the amount of food for the children.
Impact II: SUSTAINING
Funneling funds locally into Pontiac Street Market (nonprofit) to sustain the grocery and eradicate the food desert in south FW.
Impact III: ENGAGING
Opening the opportunities for volunteers to pack bags for the schools, educating and engaging them in the issue of food insecurity.
